 Safety and Health Standards

Child playing with teddybearDid you know . . . CDA has higher safety and health standards in order to protect your children?

All staff references are carefully checked and fingerprints are taken for clearance before hiring.

All staff members are Red Cross certified in CPR and First Aid.

All staff members are required to have a health exam and tuberculosis clearance.

Tables are disinfected with a germicidal cleaning solution before and after eating.  Children's resting mats are disinfected and toys are sanitized in order to decrease illness.

Good nutrition is stressed and all food served is nutritious.  Our menus are planned by our Nutritionist with special attention given to nutrients needed for healthy growth and development; sugar content is kept to a minimum; only pure fruit juices are served - fruit drinks, Kool-aide, Hi-C, and junk food are not served at CDA.

Children are taught to wash their hands before and after toileting, eating, and other appropriate times.

A designated child pick up policy is carefully followed.  Only persons authorized in writing by the parent are allowed to pickup children.  Identification is required if an adult is not recognized by the staff member.

CDA maintains an accident insurance policy for each child enrolled at the center.  This policy is provided at no cost to the parent.
