CDA’s Child Development Preschool programs provide a high quality learning environment for children 3 through 5 years of age in four locations in the South Bay. We provide a safe, stimulating and enriching early learning environment where children are cared for by professionally trained staff giving parents peace of mind. Alternative Payment Program
The Alternative Payment Program (AP) is a subsidized child care program serving children from birth through twelve years of age. The program allows eligible parents to choose the type of care they feel best meets the needs of their family. Click here for more information.
Funding is provided for income eligible families by the California Department of Education and is limited. Families must submit an application to the San Diego Centralized Eligibility List (CEL) at www.childcaresandiego.com.
Immediate openings are available for all current and former (within the past 24 months) CalWORKs recipients who meet the eligibility requirements. Contact us at (619) 427-4411 if you are currently a CalWORKs participant or have received CalWORKs within the last 24 months.
Preschool for All (PFA)
San Diego County Preschool For All (SDCPFA) is a five-year demonstration project; its purpose is to build a model which demonstrates how to successfully provide universal access to preschool. Click here for more information.
All of CDA’s Child Development Centers are designated PFA sites. To be eligible to participate in PFA at one of our designated PFA sites, families must reside in Lemon Grove, San Ysidro, South Bay, National City, Escondido and Valley Center/Pauma and within designated school district boundaries. Children must be 4 years of age on or before December 2nd. Three-year old children residing in National City school district boundaries are also eligible to participate (child must be 3 years old on or before December 2nd).

Child Care Food Program
The program is funded by USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) through the California Department of Education (CDE). Providers are reimbursed by CDA for the meals they serve to the children in their care. The program also provides nutrition guidance through in-home visits, training and various other resources. In order to participate in the Child Care Food Program providers must:
• be licensed or have Trustline clearance
• agree to follow the basic Federal and State regulations and requirements
The process to join CDA’s Nutrition Program is completed in the provider’s home at a time that is convenient for the provider, with early evening and Saturday morning appointments available if preferred.
