child with blocksFull Day Preschool
The purpose of CDA’s Preschool Program is to provide early care and education services to children whose parents meet the income eligibility guidelines established by the California Department of Education and have a need for child care while they work, look for employment or attend a training program. Parents who are incapacitated, who have children at risk of abuse or neglect or have children with special needs may also be eligible.

Our programs provide a warm, loving, comfortable and developmentally appropriate pre-school learning program for children ages 3-5 years or until entering kindergarten. The curriculum is designed to create an enthusiasm for learning. Small and large group activities are used to introduce basic concepts, expand a child’s vocabulary, and develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills and to strengthen motor and socialization skills. Additional information about our Full Day Preschool Program can be found by clicking here.

Alternative Payment Program
Child Development Associates Alternative Payment Program utilizes state and federal funds to provide parents with financial assistance for child care services. Eligibility for the Alternative Payment Program is determined by the guidelines set by the California Department of Education. Parents must meet income requirements and have a need for child care while they work, look for employment, attend training or participate in CalWORKs activities. Parents who are incapacitated, who have children at risk of abuse or neglect, or have children with special needs may also be eligible.

Our Child Care Eligibility Specialists assist families in identifying child care and other community resources that meet the specific needs of the child and family. Our staff and resources encompass a wide variety of cultural perspectives and language requirements of the families we serve.  Parents have the freedom to choose any public or private licensed, registered or exempt child care program in San Diego county.  Additional information about our Alternative Payment Program can be found by clicking here.

The purpose of the Preschool For All Project is to build a model which demonstrates how to successfully provide universal access to preschool, that: ensures a quality preschool experience; provides families with a wide variety of preschool settings from which to choose; recognizes the early education needs of a socially, culturally, and linguistically diverse population; is inclusive of children with special needs.

CDA is proud of our centers that meet the PFA Quality Standards.  The key word describing PFA Preschool programs is QUALITY.  Every SDCPFA Preschool program must meet a strict set of criteria designed to ensure that each child’s preschool education will be a valuable, enriching experience. CDA’s Child Development Centers that are designated PFA sites include, Finney, The Parks and Eastlake.  Additional information about CDA's Preschool for All Program can be found by clicking here.
